Bloating

Bloating is one of the most common gastrointestinal symptoms.

It can occur with a sensation of wind that can be accompanied by pain and can also lead to visible distension such that your clothes become tight and uncomfortable.

How we can help

Intestinal gas is the major culprit in abdominal bloating, but it can also be contributed to by constipation. Our dietitians can help you determine the cause and then examine your diet for potential triggers. In most cases, manipulation of fibre and fermentable carbohydrates provides significant relief. There are also more complex food intolerances (link to food intolerance page) that can be involved and our dietitians can help to determine their role.
