GORD/reflux

Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease occurs when stomach acid escapes up into the oesophagus.

The most common symptoms of GORD include: heartburn (a burning chest pain or discomfort after eating), regurgitation (when stomach acids comes back up into the mouth causing an unpleasant sour taste) and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing). In many cases symptoms can improve by making lifestyle changes.
